It’s no secret that I love Christmas. I’m like an over-excited child and
today Christmas really began when I went to my first Christmas market of the year with my mother-in-law.
It was in the beautiful setting of Aylesford Priory which is an old monastery dating back to the 1200s and only a 25 minute drive from home.
Initially the market looked very small but once we got inside there
was plenty to see and do. There was an ice rink for the kids (and adults if they wished!), face painting and a santa’s grotto. For the adults there were lots of stalls selling handmade goodies. I was impressed at the variety and the price. Often Christmas
markets can be over-priced but I was pleasantly surprised. I even managed to get a few presents for those hard to buy for people that we all have in our lives!
It was a really nice atmosphere too. Very chilled and relaxed. All in all, it was a lovely day finished off by a walk in the grounds. It’s December on Monday so let the festivities begin!
