Marc and Angel Hack Life

I have found this wonderful website called ‘Marc and Angel Hack Life‘.  It is a website about life.  There are plenty of them about but I find this one particularly insightful.

Today’s article, 18 Ways You’re Making Your Life Harder than It Has To Be, resonates with me as it contains some points that are particularly relevant to my life at the moment.

I’ve been making my life more complicated that it needs to be!  Have you?

Time for a Change

I read an interesting article about change and it got me thinking.

Change, such an unassuming little word but one that you can Change 1attribute a lot of meaning to.  To change oneself, to change goals or change your direction in life.  Those are big things and scary too.  Fear can go hand in hand with change and fear can hold you back.

You know internally when it is time for change in your life, even if you don’t acknowledge it.  You feel bored, restless, demotivated, you know that you are not the person you want to be or your life is not heading in the direction that you want it to, your life is not full and you don’t fulfilled….

In my experience, this is when it’s time for change.

time for a change 3Change is scary but the alternative, moreso.  Imagine a life half lived, a life of half fulfilled desires, unlived dreams, a life lived for other people and not yourself.

That’s scary…

Change is never easy but if you want it enought you’ll work for it.  Imagine the life you could be living!  Somebody close to me once said of life ‘there’s always one more book to read, one more movie to see, always something else to do’ and he is right.

Life can be a rich adventure full of the things you love or it can be defined by factors other than your own wants and desires.  Which would you rather it be?

100 Days of Happiness – Day 1

100 Days - Day 1
100 Days – Day 1

Here’s my picture that I’m sharing for Day 1 of the 100 days of Happiness Challenge!

I was meandering through Boots earlier when I came across the gawjuss (is that how you spell it??) notepad and pens.  I love that brand..even if I don’t like the spelling!

I’ve recently discovered Wanderlust magazine.  I love to travel and see new places. I keep a list of places that I want to visit and Wanderlust fuels my inner explorer.  This is the most recent issue and I can’t wait to curl up and dive into it’s covers!

Mint chocolate – need I say more??? I adore it, especially this Thornton’s mix.  I don’t often buy it for myself but hell, it’s the happiness challenge day 1, what better excuse??

100 Days of Happiness

Do you think you can be happy for 100 days in a row?

I came across this project on Facebook through a friend of mine. She has been doing the challenge for 46 days now and her happiness project is great! I felt inspired to go and find out more.

100 happy days basically challenges you to take a picture each day of something that made you happy and to submit it via Facebook/Email/Tumbler etc.

I think it’s great!  It encourages you to look more deeply at your life and to appreciate the small things.

I’m generally a happy person but recently work has been very challenging and that has had an impact on my happiness levels so the time of this project is great.

I’m going to take part and I’m going to take part from today.  I’m going to submit my photos via this blog (in addition to my normal entries).  This blog automatically posts to Facebook and Google+ so I guess I’ll be posting there too!

If any of you want to join me on this challenge, feel free!  I think it is going to be fun!

The Depressed Cake Shop

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting my first Depressed Cake Shop pop up shop.

The Depressed Cake Shop first captured my attention when I read about it on a blog last year (I forget which one it was). Basically it is a pop up cake shop that raises awarness of mental health issuesby selling grey coloured cakes and baked goods which are much more appetising than they sound! All the proceeds go to a mental health charity of their choice.

What a fabulous idea and for a fabulous cause too!

Today’s shop was held by students from Canterbury Christ Church University who had clearly worked hard on their shop.  The displays and the baking looked great.
